Dr. Fritz Trybus has been a veterinarian in the area for over 16 years.  Being a veterinarian is not just a job to him, it is part of who he is and has always been his calling in life.  He established the Cary Grove Animal Hospital (CGAH) in June 2012.  Prior to practicing at CGAH he practiced at the Animal Hospital of Woodstock in Woodstock, IL.  and at the Companion Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital in Crystal Lake, IL for several years.  He built our new hospital building and moved Cary Grove Animal Hospital in to its current state of the art location on Route 14 in Cary on April 27, 2015.

Dr. Fritz spends the majority of his time performing surgical and dental procedures at Cary Grove Animal Hospital.  He is trained in both general surgery as well as more advanced operations (Cruciate Ligament surgeries, foreign body surgery, splenectomy, etc see more on our Surgical Services page).  He is also available for surgical consultation visits, second opinions or more involved cases.  He also consults with the other team doctors on general appointments and medical cases to help foster our team approach to the treatment of our patients.  Having several doctors on staff brings our patients a large amount of experience and knowledge to be able to provide them with the best veterinary care possible.

While he mainly treats dogs and cats, Dr. Fritz is also experienced with rabbits and guinea pigs.  He is a board member of the Rabbit and Cavy (Guinea Pig) Health Committee with the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA).  He has been an ARBA member for over 33 years and a Rabbit Judge for over 22 years.

Dr. Fritz lives in rural McHenry County with a menagerie of his own and is a self proclaimed "crazy animal person."  He has dogs, cats, horses, and a small herd of fainting goats.  When not at the Cary Grove Animal Hospital, he enjoys working on his hobby farm where he breeds, trains and shows American Quarter and Paint Horses.
